Writers series

KALKASKA — The Kalkaska County Library will kick off its Writers and Readers fall program at noon on Aug. 15. Steve Lehto will lead a discussion of his 2006 Michigan Notable Book of “Death’s Door.”

TRAVERSE CITY — Ken Kerr, author of “Life of a Double Agent,” will be signing copies of his book from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, at Horizon Books.


Series continues

BEULAH — Benzie Area Zonta joins the Beulah and Benzonia Libraries in presenting Heather Shumaker, author of “It’s OK Not to Share … And Other Renegade Rules for Raising Competent and Compassionate Kids.” The program begins at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 9 at the Darcy Library in Beulah. It is part of the “Off the Page” series presented by the libraries.
