TRAVERSE CITY — Horizon Books of Traverse City will host the following book signings this week:

- June K. Davis, author of “Things Best Shared,” from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 23.

- Wenonah Hauter, author of “Foodopoly,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 26.

- Gordon Young, author of “Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City,” 6 p.m., Friday, June 28.

- Barbara Hagler, author of “Julia’s Joy,” noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29.

- Buzz Harcus, author of “Surrender in St. Thomas,” from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 29.

 

Endurance author

LELAND — The Leelanau Historical Society and the Leland Township Library will host a lecture given by Rochelle Pennington, award-winning newspaper columnist and best-selling author.

Pennington will give a presentation on “The Endurance,” her book on Sir Earnest Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition of 1914. The event begins at 5:30 p.m, Wednesday, June 26, in the Munnecke Room between the library and museum at 203 E. Cedar St. Admission is free.
