Upcoming author signings in area

TRAVERSE CITY — Horizon Books will host book signings by the following authors on Saturday, Oct. 19:

• Artist Glenn Wolff, illustrator of “A Child’s Christmas in New England,” 4 p.m.

• Sue Merrell, author of “One Shoe Off,” 2-4 p.m.

• Judy Brice, author of “Renditions In a Palette,” will be reading her poetry at 2 p.m.

New Hannah book

TRAVERSE CITY — Peg Jonkhoff and Fred Hoisington, both of Traverse City, will unveil their new book on Traverse City founder Perry Hannah, during as part of the Successful Aging Series, beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at Grand Traverse Pavilions.

“Perry Hannah’s Gifts - Then & Now” is a series of short stories about Traverse City’s founder and his many gifts of land and buildings to the city. A large section of the book will highlight Hannah’s retirement home that celebrates its 120th anniversary this year.

Light snacks and beverages will be served. The new book will be available for purchase and signing.
