'Memory Lake' wins indie award

TRAVERSE CITY — A book set in northern Michigan has won a literary award.

"Memory Lake: The Forever Friendships of Summer," by Nancy S. Kyme, won the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Award. The book is published by Vantage Point Books and is available in paperback and e-book.

Kyme will be signing copies of the book Friday, Aug. 3, 4-6 p.m., at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front St., Traverse City.

Beulah book sale

BEULAH — The Darcy Library holds its annual book sale Saturday, Aug. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be a presale of special books for collectors Friday, Aug. 3, 2-5 p.m. at the library.

Suttons Bay sale

SUTTONS BAY — The Friends of the Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library will hold a book sale Saturday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The sale will be in the lower level and behind the library, 416 Front St.
