TRAVERSE CITY — Richard Trevae, author of “Leelanau Stories,” will be signing his latest release from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at Horizon Books of Traverse City. Trevae has written three books in a thriller series as well as “The Aral Mill Murders.”

Leelanau Stories compiles three short stories about the lifestyle and history of sand dune-protected Leelanau County and neighboring areas amid shipwrecks, sunken treasure, a double murder, communing with nature to renew oneself and the spiritual enlightenment that transforms a lifelong hunter.

‘Ruby Blue’ author

KALKASKA — The Kalkaska County Library will present Julie Cassar, author of the “Ruby Blue” series for young adults, at 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 22.

The program is presented in collaboration with KMS SEEDs after-school programming. The library is located at 247 S. Cedar St. Call 258-9411.

Book sale

TRAVERSE CITY — Friends of Traverse Area District Library will celebrate National Library Week with a $1 book sale on Saturday. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main library, 610 Woodmere.

Volunteers have sorted 5,700 hardcover and softcover books, donated by patrons of the library, into 43 categories including fiction, sci-fi, biography, history, military, government, poetry, sports, self-help, arts and crafts, cooking, etc.
