TRAVERSE CITY — “Sparrow Migrations,” a debut novel by Traverse City resident Cari Noga, is set to be published this April, Autism Awareness Month. A book launch event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 7, at Brilliant Books in Traverse City.
Noga wrote “Sparrow Migrations” as a way to navigate the emotional turmoil that followed her own son’s autism diagnosis. Noga will donate $1.88 per hard copy sold in April to autism organizations.
“Sparrow Migrations” finished as a semi-finalist (top 1 percent) among 5,000 novels in the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. Noga has been a writer for more than 20 years, working as a journalist in Illinois, Iowa and Michigan. She is also the author of “Road Biking Michigan” (Globe-Pequot Press, 2005).
“Sparrow Migrations” is available on Amazon.com and at Brilliant Books and Horizon Books in Traverse City.
