Refresher course for mature drivers

TRAVERSE CITY -- Registration is under way for the AARP Driver Safety Program.

The classroom driver refresher course is for drivers 50 and older. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 20 and 21 at the Commission on Aging office, 520 W. Front St.

Participants must attend both classes to receive a certificate.

During May, an AARP member and a friend can attend the class together for $10. Each will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 922-4688 or (877) 686-4688.

'Ideas for Life' Senior Expo

TRAVERSE CITY -- The seventh annual "Ideas for Life" Senior Expo will be held May 21 at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center.

The free event is designed as a celebration for older adults, highlighting health, education and advocacy.

It will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with seminars between 2 and 4 p.m. and opportunities to visit vendors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

A free lunch and dinner will be served and transportation will be provided by BATA.
