TRAVERSE CITY — Choices and solutions are among the topics scheduled for the Northwest Michigan Housing Summit on Oct. 22.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hagerty Conference Center.
Keynote speaker is Alissa Shelton, the director of training and alumni relations with the Incremental Development Alliance based in Detroit. Cultivating Neighborhoods & the Small Scale Development Movement is the topic of Shelton's lunch keynote address.
According to a release from Networks Northwest, one of the sponsors of the summit, breakout sessions include:
— Updates on regional and state housing initiatives
— Local projects and case studies
— Local reuse and redevelopment discussions
— Using zoning to create housing solutions
— Housing policy updates and work sessions
— Building a communications strategy
Cost of the summit is $45 if registered before Sept. 23, $55 following. Participants can register online at www.nwm.org/housingsummit. Registration deadline is Oct. 12.
