n MARRIED MEN WIN against the single men at the indoor baseball game held at Central Methodist Church. The final score was 13 to 11, with errors made by the single men.

n CITY TO ENJOY SAFE HALLOWEEN. A number of special police officers will be on duty in various sections of the city to ensure a safe Halloween. Soaping and waxing of windows, tearing down fences, displacement of vehicles are taboo and persons violating these rules will be prosecuted.

n THERE WILL BE no high school in the latter part of the week. Teachers will be attending a work study in Lansing.

n ALL TAXES are due October 31. Four percent penalty will be added to those taxes unpaid. Offices will be open Friday evening.

n THE NEW RIVER wall under the south end of Park Street has been completed. It is some feet wider than the bridge itself in case a larger bridge will be built in the future.

n RENGO BELT REDUCING CORSETS are on sale at J.W. Milliken, Inc. No other corset has been developed to the success of reducing excess flesh. Priced at just $2, $3 and $5.

n GOOD ROADS MUST BE PAID FOR. We must be willing to pay for them and must be willing to maintain them. Maintenance is more important than original construction.

n TIMELY ACTION AVERTS FIRE. Janitor Gallerno of the Union Street School saved the Union School from destruction. The building was closed up and being fumigated.
