Suttons Bay teacher resigns after accusations

-- — SUTTONS BAY — A Suttons Bay High School teacher resigned after accusations arose that she carried on an "inappropriate" relationship with a male student who is in the senior class.

Amy Linck, 31, submitted her resignation last week. Superintendent Michael Murray said school officials learned last week of text messages involving Linck and the student, 18, and that she'd entered an "inappropriate" relationship with him.

"It was just texting up until spring break," Murray said. "We didn't find evidence of any sexual contact, but the relationship is inappropriate for a teacher and a student."

Linck worked for the district for six years and taught Spanish. She couldn't be reached for comment.
