Documentary filmmaker to appear at Streeters

TRAVERSE CITY — A discussion on immigration is scheduled for tonight at Streeters Center with conservative documentary filmmaker Dennis Michael Lynch.

Lynch’s two recent films include “They Come to America: The Cost of Illegal Immigration 2012” and “They Come to America II: The Cost of Amnesty 2013.” Both are popular with grass roots organizations and conservative talk radio hosts.

Lynch’s work has caught the attention on U.S. Rep. Steven King (R-Iowa), who recently invited Lynch to testify in upcoming Congressional hearings. King, often described as an immigration “hardliner,” opposes a path to citizenship for the country’s estimated 11 million unauthorized immigrants and supports building a wall on the Mexico border.

Lynch, a former entrepreneur, has appeared numerous times on various Fox news programs including, the O’Reilly Factor and Fox & Friends. Sean Hannity recently recorded a one-hour special with Dennis to discuss his films and the immigration reform bill.

The event is free and will be filmed. It begins at 6:30 p.m. at Streeters Center, 1669 S. Garfield Avenue.
