Pugsley inmate found dead

TRAVERSE CITY -- Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at Pugsley Correctional Facility in Kingsley.

A male inmate's body was discovered on Saturday, said Jim Dawson, an administrative assistant at the minimum security facility operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Dawson did not identify the man, but said he was not from the Grand Traverse area. He did not know the cause of death, but said state police investigators said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Dawson said more details should be available soon.
