TRAVERSE CITY — A Traverse City woman faces accusations she kneed a sheriff's deputy during her arrest on a suspicion of domestic violence.
Grand Traverse County sheriff's deputies responded to an assault report Saturday night at the Marriott on South Airport Road. Lt. Brian Giddis said deputies arrested a woman, 30, who had been involved in a fight with her boyfriend.
Giddis said the woman struck a deputy with her knee before she went into a patrol car. Authorities said she also kicked and damaged the car's rear passenger window. The woman's blood-alcohol content tested at .19 percent.
Deputies requested prosecutors authorize charges of third-degree domestic violence, resisting and obstructing police, assaulting a police officer and malicious destruction of police property.
