BERKLEY — Traverse City completed its three-game opening-weekend sweep over Berkley on Sunday with a 7-5 win over the Bruins.
Garrison Sanipass scored two goals and assisted on two more, while Patrick Rogowski and Jacob Gillis each added a goal and two assists for the Hounds (3-0).
Josh Smith, Cam Fisher and Alex Devries also scored in the victory.
The Hounds trailed early in the first period, but tied it with Smith’s goal at the 12:54 mark of the period and took their first lead three minutes into the second on a power play goal from Fisher. After Berkley tied it seven minutes later, Traverse City scored three straight goals and never relinquished the lead.
Colton Lewicki made 27 saves in goal for the Hounds, who joined the Soo FireHawks and the Alpena Street Cats with perfect 3-0 records atop the Midwest Junior Hockey League standings.
