It is not often that we have the opportunity to elect someone to the City Commission who is as highly qualified as Jan Warren. She has demonstrated her commitment to Traverse City for years, serving on the Traverse City Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and numerous other local boards and commissions. Having served with her, I know she will use her enormous experience melding differing perspectives into sustainable solutions. We will all benefit by taking this great opportunity to elect Jan Warren to the Traverse City City Commission.

A clear vision
I have tremendous regard for Jan Warren and her commitment to our community. She has served for many years on various committees and commissions, including a long tenure on the Planning Commission. She takes the time to learn about the issues and has a clear vision of what it takes for our city to prosper. Jan is thorough and fair. I support her bid for a seat on the City Commission.

The adult in the room
Seven TC citizens are willing to serve on the City Commission. All appear qualified, promising to maintain our reputation and quality of life.
But this beautiful community needs leadership that understands fiscal responsibility so public services can be provided now and in the future. It is easy to say “yes” to every request or program. It is harder to demand cost/benefit analysis, saying “no” to the unaffordable.
One candidate, Pat McGuire, appears ideal for “adult-in-the-room” status. He served on COFAC, generating municipal improvements. Serving as Board of Power & Light Chairman, Pat McGuire deserves your vote.
