Art Rapids! received a $3,750 Michigan State arts grant for the “Walk of Art” sculpture exhibition in Elk Rapids Day Park on South Bayshore Drive. The permanent sculpture park features a rotating exhibit of works that will include up to 30 sculptures, with each piece on display for three years. Most works are for sale.
The grant makes it possible to expand the exhibit from six to 16 sculptures in 2014. New works that will be added this spring include “Timekeeper” by Maureen Gray of Interlochen; “Golden Canopy” by Dace Koenigsknecht of St. Johns; “Seedpod 10” by David Greenwood of Grand Rapids; “The Lotus” by Bart Ingraham of Suttons Bay; “Seek Alternate Route” by David Petrakovitz of Cadillac; “Aspen Walker” by Sam Soet of Farwell; “Sun Over the Red Sea” by Dave VandeVusse of Manistee; “Sentinel” by Ray Katz of Pontiac; “Enlighten” by Margot McMahon of Oak Park, Ill.; and “36 Degrees 30’” by Molly Dilworth of New York, N.Y.
