May 10, 2008 04:00 am TRAVERSE CITY -- In the league Thomas Swartzmiller plays in, coaches do the pitching. On Sunday at Comerica Park, the 8 year old from Traverse City will do the hurling. Swartzmiller, diagnosed with Hodkins' lymphoma in early April, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Sunday when the Detroit Tigers host the New York Yankees. "It's going to be awesome," said Swartzmiller, a Tigers' fan. The son of Kurt and Susan Swartzmiller, the Norris Elementary second grader has been undergoing cancer treatment at DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
