---- — n The most oft-asked question at the Film Fest box office “Newbie” table: “Where can I park?” The most off-the-wall question: “Can you reprint tickets that fell in the toilet?” (Answer: yes, but you have to bring the old ones in.)

n Spotted playing a truck game on his iPad at the Film Fest lounge: Wesley McDonald, 4, of Wisconsin, who was waiting for his grandparents, Barb and Ron Steury of Sheridan, to order their tickets. The Steury and McDonald families are renting a Traverse City carriage house for the week in order to attend up to 20 film screenings each. “Back at our apartment we have a schedule of who watches the kids,” said Barb Steury. “One person stays back with the kids at noon, 3, 6 and 9.”

n @marisa_mck: Now if only a day at the office meant a day in a theatre watching movies.

n @ErikBurt1: Bummed I’m missing the TCFF for the first time in over 5 years.

n @chinzeDPT: Dig the tcff volunteer shirts for this year.

n TV 9&10 news reporter Kalin Franks and camera woman Stephanie Adkins had to get up well before the birds Tuesday morning for their first opening day assignment. They left Cadillac about 4 a.m. to get to Traverse City for a 5:15 a.m. shoot in front of the State Theatre. It was one of seven “live shots” scheduled for Tuesday morning and afternoon.
