TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Human Rights Commission seeks nominations for its annual Sara Hardy Humanitarian Award to honor a person who promotes mutual understanding and respect among all people and discourages discriminatory practices.
The award recognizes Sara Hardy’s contributions to the community. She was instrumental in establishing the city’s Human Rights Commission more than 30 years ago.
To nominate someone who represents ideals of understanding, respect, and nondiscrimination, submit a letter with the nominee’s name, address, telephone number and humanitarian activities in which they are involved, along with the reasons for the nomination.
The nominator should include their name and phone number in the letter as well.
