Cherryland Electric Cooperative, which reported 7,000 members without electricity as of 5 p.m. Sunday, said it could be early Tuesday before they restore power to most customers, and a few may not be back on the grid before mid-week. Customers can go to http://outage.cecelec.com/ where there's a map of locations with outages. You can log in with e-bill info (if applicable) to see what's happening to your area specifically. The majority of Consumers Power customers north of U.S. 10 are expected to have power restored by midnight Monday; however, some customers in Grand Traverse County are expected to have power restored by mid-Tuesday. Officials said 7,000 customers in Leelanau County were without power at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, 5,000 in Benzie County, 4,200 in Grand Traverse County and 2,400 in Antrim County. Customers who call Consumers Energy to report no power are encouraged to use the utility's automated reporting option, available at 1-800-477-5050.
Traverse City Light & Power says all but 100 customers had power restored by Sunday evening. If an L&P customer is still without power they are asked to call L&P at (231) 922-4940 to report the outage.
