---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Turkey-filled folk driving home to Traverse City this weekend should be in for an easier trip than when they left.
Temperatures largely will be in the low- to mid-30s and partly sunny, said Scott Rozanski, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Gaylord.
“There may be a few flurries, but we’re really not looking at anything for the next seven days,” Rozanksi said on Friday.
The region should get a break from lake-effect snow that dropped a foot-plus of snow on counties nearest lake Michigan.
“This is what our winter would be like with a lack of the lakes being there,” Rozanski said. “However, since the lakes are there, when we get the cold air, Traverse City tends to get that three days of snow.”
Rozanski said most roads, especially wide, exposed ones, should be easy to drive on because most of the snow will have melted off.
But roads running East-West and with lots of tree cover might still be icy, he said.
