---- — TRAVERSE CITY — A few rides, a quick dessert and home in time for an afternoon nap.

That was the plan for Eric Link and his sons Keith, 1, Gabe, 4, and Ethan, 6, at the Northwestern Michigan Fair Tuesday.

“There’s a lot to choose from,” Eric Link said as his sons snacked on blue raspberry slushies. “I eat a little bit of the barbecue and the kids eat their treats.”

From snow cones and corn dogs to carnival games and bumper cars — the fair is in full swing.

See page 1C for the Record-Eagle’s coverage and photos of the regional fair, which is expected to draw more than 40,000 guests this week.
