— KEWADIN — Antrim Sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of an 83-year-old man found floating in waters near his home.
John Stopa was found at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday by family members who hadn’t talked to him since Saturday. The body was found in about 5 feet of water.
Antrim County Sheriff Daniel Bean said Stopa had apparently been raking and cleaning the beach near his North Torch Lake Drive home. He said an autopsy was needed to determine if the cause of death was drowning or if the elderly man died before he fell into the water.
