Four arrested in Long Lake Twp. drug bust
TRAVERSE CITY — Authorities arrested four suspects in a drug bust at a home in a Long Lake Township neighborhood.
Traverse Narcotics Team officers and Grand Traverse County sheriff’s deputies on Monday served a search warrant at a Lillian Lane home from which tipsters said suspects sold cocaine and heroin.
TNT Detective Lt. Daniel King said officers arrested four suspects -- two women, ages 52 and 28, and two men in their 30s -- during the search. One suspect owned the 5992 Lillian Lane home, which sits in a neighborhood near Silver Lake Elementary School.
Traverse City Area Public Schools spokeswoman Christine Guitar said school officials weren’t told about the bust in advance. She said law enforcement typically does so only in situations in which students are in danger.
“There was no notification to Silver Lake families as there was no disruption as a result of law enforcement actions and student safety was not an issue,” she said.
The search yielded more than $2,000, drugs and packaging materials. King didn’t have information on specific amounts of drugs.
Authorities requested charges related to use and sale of cocaine and heroin. Grand Traverse County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg said Wednesday that a prosecutor is reviewing the case for charges.
