TRAVERSE CITY — Antrim County sheriff's officials identified one of the two men found dead inside a tent in Custer Township.
A forensic pathologist from Grand Rapids' Spectrum Hospital and Michigan State Police lab personnel used fingerprints to identified the man as Daniel Lloyd Nothstine, 56, of Mancelona.
Evidence suggests the second body could be that of Nothstine's brother, Robert Eric Nothstine, 51, but officials are waiting for DNA confirmation.
Family members and friends told detective the brothers, who were homeless, were last seen in early August. They were loaned a tent and dropped off near where people looking for deer antler sheds later discovered the bodies.
Investigators believe the bodies' condition indicated they were in the tent since the fall. Foul play is not suspected in the deaths, but it had not been ruled out as of this morning.
