TRAVERSE CITY — Fathers from across the region plan to gather in support of hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by terrorists about four weeks ago.
Chris Sack is organizing an effort to gather local dads at the Open Space tonight at 6 p.m. where a group photo will be taken. The photo then will be distributed through the Internet and sent to the girls’ families.
Sack encouraged other dads to post photos of themselves with signs that read “I stand with Nigeria’s dads” on a Facebook page he created alongside Traverse City native Rob Tremp, who now lives in Arizona.
The pair hope the effort draws more men into the international conversation about how to bring home the Nigerian girls currently held hostage by the terrorist group Boko Haram, Sack said. For more information, contact Sack at 645-8327 or go to www.facebook.com/standwithnigeriasdads.
