Titans split twinbill at Grand Haven

GRAND HAVEN — Max Ludka collected two hits, scored three runs and drove in one as Traverse City West beat Grand Haven 15-9 in the first of two games.

Jake Dean earned the win in relief. Wes Talbot and Keegan Kenny each drove in two runs while Jared Roth scored three runs.

Grand Haven won the nightcap 4-0. Ludka suffered the loss even though he didn’t allow an earned run for the Titans (4-1).

In the JV twinbill, West won the opener 9-8 as Kyle Bailey picked up the win. Brett Hines went 4-for-4 with two RBIs. The Titans (1-1) lost the nightcap 10-5. Gavin Garmhausen had two hits and two RBIs.

Benzie Central 6 3

Logan Briggs and Cam Givens drove in three runs apiece as Traverse City Central beat Benzie Central 14-6 in the first of two games.

Briggs, Ethan Campbell, Alex Conz and Brandon Sogge all had two hits. Campbell, the winning pitcher, scored three runs.

The Trojans (4-1) won the nightcap 7-3 as Ron Dohm earned the victory. Briggs and Griffin Cencer each drove in two runs.

Benzie was led in the opener by Austin Ross (3 for 4, RBI), Jared Roeske (2 for 3, double, two RBIs) and Evan Witkop (2 for 4).

In the JV twinbill, Traverse City Central improved to 4-0 with a sweep over Benzie Central, 6-0 and 13-1.

Eric Sowash had two doubles among three hits in game one and added two hits in game two. Jake Ryan added two hits in each game. Ethan Schuh had two hits in game one and Cam Fewless had two hits in game two.

Kevin Goodwin got the win in game one, striking out nine and allowing five hits in seven innings. Jordan Ruckle picked up the win in game two, striking out five and allowing three hits in four innings.

Thomas Waning tossed a no-hitter, and Zach Cooper and Logan Lacross combined on a one-hitter as Glen Lake won a pair of games from Evart.
