---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Authorities filed charges against a man accused of fleeing from authorities after a November traffic stop.
William Daniel Kocsis, 27, is charged with fleeing from law enforcement, operating a vehicle with a suspended license and being a habitual offender.
Court records indicate a Grand Traverse sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to yield and reckless driving in the area of Three Mile and Hammond roads on Nov. 7. The motorist sped off and raced through the Woodcreek subdivision. The driver crashed into a sign, then continued for a while before he exited and ran away.
Court records state Kocsis is charged as a habitual offender because of prior convictions for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, larceny in a building, receiving and concealing stolen property, and conspiracy to commit felony home invasion.
