TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Area Public Schools officials canceled Tuesday classes, the seventh such cancellation this school year.
Bone-chilling temperatures -- wind chills could reach minus 25 degrees -- and hazardous driving conditions forecast for Tuesday prompted officials to close schools for a second straight day.
TCAPS administrators made the decision to cancel classes at about 3:30 p.m.
"We don’t like to make a decision this early, but we don’t see any possibility of there being anything different (tomorrow),” said Paul Soma, the district's associate superintendent of finance & operations.
