---- — An upcoming forum, "Michigan Public Schools: Is Local Control in Question?, will discuss the effects of proposed changes to school funding and the governor's proposed "Any Time, Any Place, Any Way, Any Pace" educational system.
On Feb. 25, the Benzie Unit of the League of Women Voters—Grand Traverse Area, will present the forum at the Benzie Central High School auditorium.
Heading up the panel is John Austin, president of the Michigan State School Board. Others include West Michigan Public Radio reporter Lindsey Smith; Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District Superintendent Mike Hill; Superintendent Dave Micinski from Benzie County Central Schools, and Tom Stobie from Frankfort/Elberta Area Schools.
Benzie Central High School is located on 9300 Homestead Road in Benzonia. The two-hour program begins at 6:45 p.m. and includes time for questions.
