Art classes start
Traverse City — Blackbird Arts, 1485 Barlow St., is offering winter classes for toddlers through adults.
Class highlights include printmaking and mixed media with local artist Glenn Wolff, guitar with musician Seth Bernard, songwriting with Seth Bernard and May Erlewine, family arts nights and more.

Talking dogs at IAA
Interlochen — Interlochen Presents the "Todd Oliver & Friends: Dogs Gone Wild! Tour" on Jan. 24.
The comedian and ventriloquist will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Corson Auditorium. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for senior citizens and $9 for students. They are available at https://tickets.interlochen.org or by calling the box office, (800) 681-5920 or 276-7800.
Winter Wine & Vine
Leland — A unique flight of Leelanau wines will be paired with specialty appetizers for a Winter Wine & Vine Experience on Jan. 26.
The experience will be hosted from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Old Art Building, 111 Main St. A juried fine art exhibit also will be held, with 40 percent of sales going to the Old Art Building.
A Sneak Preview will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the event. Admission is by donation.

Sara Hardy Award
Traverse City — The Traverse City Human Rights Commission will take nominations through Feb. 1, for the Sara Hardy Humanitarian Award.
Nominees should exemplify the ideals of the Commission, which are to promote mutual understanding and respect among all people and discourage discriminatory practices. Nominators should submit a letter including the nominee's name, address, telephone number, humanitarian activities and the reason they are being nominated. The nominator also should include their name and phone number.
