The Benzie Conservation District will hold a public forum on fracking Wednesday.
The forum will feature Mel Kiogima of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, environmental attorney James Olson and John Corcoran of Premiere Land Services. Tad Peacock of the Conservation District said the event is aimed at educating the public about the pros and cons of fracking to exact gas and oil.
“It’s a community service to present a conversation about fracking that hopefully dispels any misconceptions and clarifies,” Peacock said.
The event will be held at the Mills Community House, 891 Michigan Ave. in Benzonia, at 6:30 p.m.
