New webcam tracking Traverse City bayfront construction

TRAVERSE CITY — The public can follow the progress on Traverse City's $3 million bayfront construction project via a new webcam link from the TC Area Chamber of Commerce. The camera looks down from the third floor of the chamber's office across from the construction zone along Grandview Parkway. Images are updated every 15 seconds.

City Planning Director Russ Soyring says construction work will continue this fall for as long as weather permits. It will resume in the spring, with the first phase of the project slated for completion by mid June.

Some of the improvements will include a splash pad play area, a canoe/kayak launch, a terraced seating section, barrier-free access to the beach and water, restrooms and concession area, a covered pavilion and enhancements to the TART Trail that winds through the property.

The webcam can be viewed by visiting the chamber’s website at www.tcchamber.org and clicking on “Bayfront Cam” tag at the top of the homepage.
