Petoskey man still missing

TRAVERSE CITY — A Petoskey-area man remains missing, more than a month after he walked outside a Traverse City hospital to smoke a cigarette and didn’t return.

Jeremy Leroy Zerbe, 35, left his wallet behind when he vanished from Munson Healthcare’s behavioral health services late Feb. 25. His family filed a missing person report with city police, who conducted an unsuccessful search.

On Monday, his family renewed a call for help from the public.

“All I want to know is if he’s alive and safe,” said Zerbe’s mother Grace Zerbe.

Zerbe struggled with depression and didn’t have his medication when he disappeared. He’s described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 230 pounds. He wore a gray plaid coat and black track pants.

“This is very unlike him to do this,” Grace Zerbe said.

Members of the public who have seen or heard from Zerbe can call 231-947-TIPS (8477) or city police at 231-945-5150.
