Benzie Bus will have new director

TRAVERSE CITY — The Benzie Transportation Authority Board of Directors will meet today at 9:30 a.m. to discuss a possible contract for a new Benzie Bus executive director.

The board voted at a March 5 meeting to offer the position to Bill Kennis, the former History Center of Traverse City executive director.

The offer included a $55,000 salary and employment benefits and is subject to a reference and background check, according to meeting minutes. The minutes still are in draft form until they are approved by the board today.

Board members are also slated to discus when the interim executive director’s contract will expire, as well as an orientation plan for the new director that was developed with Pam Evans of NorthSky Nonprofit Network.

Benzie Bus operations manager Chad Hollenbeck served as interim director since September after the board voted not to renew former director Susan Miller’s contract.
