TRAVERSE CITY — An expert on solving complex community problems is the keynote speaker at an event sponsored by Rotary Charities.
The speech today by David Phillips of San Francisco-based consulting group FSG is related to the Grand Vision. The land use and planning study sought to develop a regional strategy for future growth, land use and transportation in the Grand Traverse area during the next 50 years.
Phillips will speak about a concept called “Collective Impact,” which is a strategy that communities can use to solve complex social problems.
“It can and does work in rural areas,” Phillips said.
The event takes place at the Hagerty Center today from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
