Police: six TC West students came forward against tutor

TRAVERSE CITY — A private voice instructor accused of having sexual contact with a Traverse City West Senior High School student was arraigned in 86th District Court.

Jayme Jay Kratky, 33, of Traverse City, was arraigned on one count of criminal sexual conduct. A judge set Kratky's bond at $30,000.

Traverse City Police Capt. Mike Ayling said the investigation began Friday when six TC West students walked into the principal's office and reported they received "inappropriate texts" from Kratky, who had tutored them. One reported Kratky had criminal sexual contact with her during the summer.

Ayling said Kratky confessed to two different crimes -- inappropriately touching and having sexual contact with a female student.
