FROM STAFF REPORTS
October 24, 2008 12:00 am TRAVERSE CITY -- A downstate man who left his car after rolling it over might face multiple criminal charges. The man, 45, of Rockford, rolled his vehicle on M-72 near Skegemog Point Road sometime after midnight Wednesday, Michigan State Police Sgt. Melvin Holbrook said. Troopers searched for him for about six hours, Holbrook said, and eventually found him at Turtle Creek Casino. Troopers arrested him for leaving the scene of an accident, and more charges could follow because investigators suspect alcohol may have been a factor, Holbrook said. The man told police he swerved and rolled his car after a deer ran out in front of him. The incident remains under investigation.
