More sex charges for man in prison

TRAVERSE CITY -- A man who's already in prison on sex charges faces several more.

Ronald G. Sparling, 24, is serving a 15-year sentence in the Upper Peninsula's Kinross Correctional Facility on criminal sexual conduct and breaking and entering charges from Wexford and Grand Traverse counties, respectively.

Now he's charged in Grand Traverse County with four felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. A girl, 10, told the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Department Sparling molested her at her grandmother's house in 2003, court records show.

Her brother, 14, said Sparling molested him between the ages of six and nine. Sparling used to babysit for the children, according to court records.

Sparling hasn't yet been arraigned on the new charges.
