CADILLAC -- A Traverse City man who allegedly fired several shots into a Wexford County home faces multiple felony charges.
Fredrick James Hoyt, 48, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, use of a firearm during a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, a court spokeswoman said.
Michigan State Police said Hoyt pulled into a driveway in Boon Township and fired eight rounds into the home with a high-powered rifle at about 1 a.m. Monday. Two adults and three children inside the residence weren't injured.
Sgt. Mike Salasky said Hoyt knew the homeowner, but wouldn't provide a motive for the shooting.
