August 01, 2008 12:00 am CHARLEVOIX -- The Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association will host a town meeting to discuss possible impacts of Traverse City Light & Power's proposed wind farm on U.S. 31 south of Charlevoix. The trade group will discuss the economic, social and environmental impacts of wind energy along with siting concerns and zoning challenges. The meeting is sponsored by Light & Power and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Charlevoix High School. The meeting is part of the city-owned utility's outreach efforts to answer community questions and receive feedback before seeking final zoning and permit approval.
