TRAVERSE CITY -- Students who attend Spring Arbor University's satellite campuses in Traverse City, Gaylord and Petoskey could benefit when the Jackson-area Christian college expands a scholarship program.
The university will grant twice as many More Life Scholarships this coming school year than in the past, one at each of its 12 sites. The $20,000 awards are intended for nontraditional students to help them earn degrees and, ultimately, to keep more graduates in Michigan.
To be eligible, students must be working toward an associate's degree; a bachelor's degree in business, family life education, management and organizational development, nursing or social work; or a master's degree in counseling, family studies or organizational management.
Six scholarships will be given out this fall, with the remainder next spring.
