July 04, 2009 09:05 pm Six arrested for alcohol offenses Fri. TRAVERSE CITY -- City police arrested six people for alcohol-related offenses on the eve of Independence Day. The six arrests Friday night all occurred downtown, with crimes including disorderly conduct, assault and battery, domestic violence and disturbing the peace, authorities said. They come as Traverse City police step up efforts to patrol the area, as crowds of people are expected to arrive for the holiday weekend and the National Cherry Festival.
