Elk Rapids to hold school chief meeting

ELK RAPIDS -- Board members in Elk Rapids Schools will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss the search for a new superintendent.

The school board will meet at 6 p.m. in Room 124 of Elk Rapids High School, 308 Meguzee Point in Elk Rapids.

Superintendent search consultants will give presentations to board members, who must decide whether to hire one or conduct their own search to replace outgoing Superintendent Jon Hoover.

Hoover said last month that he will retire effective Aug. 31.
