July 02, 2008 12:00 am TRAVERSE CITY -- Area environmentalists will accept small, hard-to-recycle electronics during the National Cherry Festival and give away T-shirts and posters featuring Walt Disney's Wall-E the recycling robot. Items such as iPods, cameras, cell phones, hand-held video games, portable CD/DVD players, laptops, batteries and computer peripherals will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in the Open Space during the festival. Drawings for movie items will be held on July 5, 6, and 7. The recycling drive is sponsored by the Traverse Bay Watershed Greens and the Northwest Michigan Environmental Action Council.
