June 29, 2008 12:00 am GAYLORD -- A downstate man escaped serious injury after a plane he was piloting crashed in Otsego County's Dover Township. Birmingham resident Ronald Holcomb, 60, was flying a Cessna 150 from Detroit to Pellston in Emmet County Saturday when he reported the engine lost power and crashed the plane near Gaylord shortly before noon, state police said in a statement. The plane was destroyed and resting upside down when officers arrived on scene, but Holcomb, the sole occupant, suffered "very minor injuries," the statement read. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate to determine the cause of the crash.
