Big Brothers fundraiser nets $86K
TRAVERSE CITY -- A recent fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan netted the nonprofit more than $86,000. Bowl for Kids' Sake was held for a week in May at bowling alleys in Traverse City, Bellaire, Harbor Springs and Manistee. Funds raised will be used to help match children with adult mentors across 10 area counties. The event, in its 20th year, is the organization's largest fundraiser. Its next major event will be The Big Soiree dinner in late September.
