Bodies recovered from Cheboygan lake

TOPINABEE -- The bodies of two people were recovered from a Cheboygan County lake after days of searching for the missing canoeists.

Dive teams from the Cheboygan and Emmet County Sheriff's Departments recovered the bodies of Orbie and Billi Jo Longway late Friday afternoon. The married couple canoed on Mullett Lake Tuesday night for a fishing trip and were reported missing on Wednesday.

The bodies were found in about 35 feet of water off the shores of Topinabee, authorities said.
