TRAVERSE CITY -- Renovations to the State Theatre garnered honors as the historic preservation project of the year from the Grand Traverse Heritage Center.
The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy won the community award for excellence in preservation, stabilization and visioning of the area. Two barns at the former state hospital grounds received the historic places award.
Other winners included Oryana Natural Foods Market, a warehouse district building on Garland Street and the Mercato Marketplace at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Several homeowners, architects and contractors received awards.
