Man arrested in alleged bar assault

FROM STAFF REPORTS

TRAVERSE CITY -- Police arrested an Interlochen man for assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

Traverse City Police went to Kilkenny's Irish Public House on West Front Street Monday at about 9 p.m. on a report of an assault. The suspect was reported fleeing toward Hall Street, and officers located the suspect there.

The man refused to stop for the officer and continued on foot toward the Bay Area Transportation Authority. The officer caught up with and arrested him.

The man, 32, had been intoxicated and harassing others inside Kilkenny's, and he refused to leave when asked by a manager, and assaulted the manager as he attempted to contact police. The man also allegedly assaulted another employee before leaving.
